Authentic Tiramisu Dessert Recipe

Ingredients:

• 3 large eggs, separated
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 1 cup mascarpone cheese
• 1 1/2 cups strong brewed coffee, cooled
• 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
• 24 ladyfingers
• Unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting
• Dark chocolate shavings (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. 1. Egg Yolk Mixture: In a large bowl, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until thick and pale. Add mascarpone cheese and blend until smooth and well combined.
    2. Egg Whites: In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the egg whites into the mascarpone mixture.
    3. Prepare Coffee Mixture: Combine cooled coffee with coffee liqueur in a shallow dish.
    4. Assemble Layers: Briefly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture. Line the bottom of a 9×9 inch dish with a layer of soaked ladyfingers. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat layers once more.
    5. Refrigerate: Cover and refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
    6. Serve: Before serving, dust the top with unsweetened cocoa powder and garnish with dark chocolate shavings if desired.
